The Servei d' Emissions - Andorra Mint has been authorized to reproduce the official Vatican logo of the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000 celebration on its commemorative coin collection.
The coins have been designed by the Italian sculptor Luigi Teruggi, an artist with a recognized international prestige and a great scholar of religious art. He has selected some of the most outstanding episodes of Jesus' life for this coin collection.
According to the sculptor's own words, he wished to highlight the artistic expressiveness of the designes, to captivate the collector's attention. The result is a collection of real works of art.
Each set contains eight 1 oz. coins made of 99.99% silver, the coins having milled edges and proof finish.
Each set comes in a padded wooden case engraved with the Jubilee logo and also includes a numbered certficate of authenticity. Only 15,000 such sets have been minted.
